A man is never fully satisfied with his life. There is always something that he lacks to be fully happy, and it is his dream and fantasy. Each one of us – is an individuality, and our dreams – are unique. They inspire us, move us forward, and give us energy. But some people can turn their dreams into reality quickly and easily, while others - remain dreams for lifetime. Some of ourdreams have more chance to be realised, while others seem to be absurd fantasies. Why is this happening? And what is the sacred meaning of this mysterious dream coming tru phenomenon? A lot of information on this topic can be found in different sources. But I suggest we look at it from an unusual angle.

1. The essence of dreams

Let's firstly define what dreams are, and what role they play in our live. According to the dictionary, a dream - "it's a mental image of something, a notion about something strongly desired."  So dreams promise us satisfaction of some desires, or it will provide us with a certain degree of pleasure or happiness. Interestingly, the process of dreaming is very favorable for the increase of brain activity as a whole - many parts begin to work more intensively, increases the establishment of new neural interconnections. In addition to the physiological benefits, dreams are a mental "discharge", allowing for some time to step away from the burden of unresolved problems and challenges, and to look at them "from outside" .

But back to the essence of dreams - the anticipation of pleasure associated with the realization of some immediate interest. And the more urgent this interest is for us, the more fascinatingly we will dream of it. It is the right hemisphere of the brain which is in greater degree "responsible" for dreams and fantasies, because this process is predominantly carried out by abstractmanipulation of images and sensations. We have little idea about the specifics of desired circumstances, but that little what we could fantasize, fascinates and motivates us for further action in this direction, or at least for further dreaming about it.

Every person has more than one dream, because there is more than one interest or desire that can bring us satisfaction or happiness. Dreams can be divided according to different life spheres: career, family, social relationships, health, beauty, finance, self-realization, etc. Dreams can also be subdivided according to their realization deadline: distant and global, more "mundane" and detailed etc.

2. Briefly about the theory of sub-personalities in the psyche structure

But I propose to reflect on the following approach to the "classification" of our dreams. There is a field of knowledge, in modern psychology, as psychology of sub-personalities. The concept of sub-personalities was introduced into science as part of psycho-synthesis - psychotherapeutic system developed by Italian psychiatrist and psychologist Robert Assagioli. Sub-personality – is the structure of personality’s psyche, perceived by the consciousness as something separate from it, as well as an internal image connected to these elements. It is the set of attitudes, behavioral patterns, interests, opinions, which gain a holistic discernible shape in person’s mind. Each sub-personality leads its own lifestyle and has its own motives, often different from the lifestyle and motives of other sub-personalities. There is a crowd in each of us. There may be a rebel and a thinker, a deceiver and a housewife, an organizer and good-natured person, etc. And often they not very well relate to each other.

Similar to the concept of "sub-personality" is the concept of "chakram personalities" (CP) in iissiidiology. Chakram personality - implies the conglomerate of similar interests, needs, desires, and associated psycho-emotional processes. "Initialization" in the psyche of a specific "chakram personality" is accompanied by the activation of certain neural pathways and production of a particular set of hormones, which creates the necessary conditions for particular mental reactions. Therefore, in the apparent dominance, in consciousness, of any one sub-personality, the activity of all other sub-personalities for some time is fully or partially suppressed.

One of the best examples to illustrate Sub-Personalities [1] is a state of being-in-love, when all the thoughts and feelings of a person are focused only on the object of adoration. During that state, in the brain, the excessive stimulation of neural interconnections of the limbic system and the reduction of activity links with the neocortex takes place [2], and the hormonal system is dominated by dopamine, serotonin and endorphins. But this euphoric state is temporary - soon the bubbling stream of emotions will subside, and will come the turn for Chakram Personality who tends to have more common sense and "sober" analysis. The hormonal background and brain activity will change accordingly.

Other examples of Chakram Personalities are those whose main interests are for example to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the invention of perpetual motion, creation of new recipe and so on.

Each emotion corresponds to many "chakram personalities" depending on the context and circumstances. For example if we take such emotions as joy, there is a wide variety of sub-personalities for which this emotion is typical. It can be the joy of child birth, or by passing an examination, or because of good weather and so on. Again, it is the informational "framing" of an emotion, the conditions that caused it, define the Chakram Personality.

3. Each of us – is a Theatre

So how does the information about the consciousness structure relates to the main subject of this article - the realization of our dreams? The most direct one actually! After all, the theory of Chakram Personality allows us to look at an individual not at as an indivisible personality, who has "own character", "own inclinations", "own habits", "own dreams", but at as a kind of a theater, where different actors come to the stage at different times. Each actor plays its own role - a character that possesses certain characteristics, type of thinking and feeling, has its own unique interests and desires.

Those who have been in the theater, know that at no one time two or more actors are leading - they usually change each other as the story progresses. The "game" of "chakram personalities" in human psyche is done in a similar way. The change of "the dominant actor" – the sub-personality – is followed by the change of a "dominant dream". And each Chakram Personality aspires to the dream that will bring happiness to it. For example, for housewife sub-personality the dream is to by a new home or a garden improvement, for sub-personality of a mother – for her kids to have a good education, and for sub-personality of a mistress - a trip with her husband (or lover) to an exotic resort. All these and many other Chakram Personalities are inherent to the minds of most women (and not only), but with different degree of dominance. One woman may deprive itself of everything, just to enroll her child to a prestigious university, while other may choose not to have children at all because it could ruin her figure.

Exactly this unique combination of various Chakram Personalities in the mental structure of an individual determines what we call a "character" or a "personality". It turns out that character - is an integral characteristic of many aspects of individual’s "I" (Chakram Personality), constantly replacing each other within a certain period of time. And, relatively speaking, every moment we see same person with completely different "inner content", although visually nothing has changed.

Based on the fact that our dreams and aspirations relate to one or other Chakram Personality, the dream that has the greatest chance of realization, belongs to such Chakram Personality which has the most consistent dominance in the mind for a long period of time. This allows a person to be persistent and purposeful in achieving its goals. However, if in the psyche there is no clearly dominant sub-personality, and person’s desires, moods and opinions change very often, it creates a strong obstacle to the realization of any dreams. It's like a road journey: the selected road - is the shortest way to the aspired goal, important for a particular sub-personality, and activation, in consciousness, of other Chakram Personality - is a departure from this road. How long is it going to take us to achieve our dreams, if we constantly loose our way – go far away into the field, then into the woods, then into the mountains, and maybe later in the opposite direction all together...

4. The ability to achieve the goal is inherited

Configuration features of person’s psyche are primarily laid in its genome as a kind of "seed capital" from his ancestors. It is the genetic information which determines the "set" of Chakram Personalities that have realization priority in the consciousness of a specific person. The common DNA sections that we share with our parents are inherent to "identical" Chakram Personalities. Meaning that in some particular life circumstances response mechanisms will be very similar.

There are people who from birth have developed such qualities as purposefulness, focus, they know exactly what they want and are determined to the realization of this desire. Particular Chakram Personality is predominant in the psyche structure of such people throughout their life, which reduces the degree of internal hesitation and doubt. The most part of their time such people spend on the realization of ideas belonging to the dominant sub-personality. Well-known writers, artists, politicians, businessmen are an example of such type of individuals. There are a lot of quotes that talk about the fact that people are not born great, but become great through hard work. But the persistency of such people is ensured by the fact that all the mental energy is focused on the creative process of consistently dominant Chakram Personality, and is not wasted on self-overcome or on "pulling itself together", when consciousness is "torn apart" by unrealized interests of other sub-personalities.

5. The evolution of “chakram personalities”

So what are we to do, the "simple people" who were originally deprived of this wonderful gift of willpower and determination? What are the ways for us to bring to life a cherished dream? Let us think about it.

Iissiidiology talks about a conditional hierarchy of Chakram Personalities according to their evolutionary level [4]. For more primitive (depliative) Chakram Personalities such manifestations are typical as incontinence, categoricalness, aggression, selfishness, cruelty and similar. With activity of such qualities a person is not prone to deep analysis and empathy. However conceptions of more developed (ampliative) Chakram Personalities are based on deep and diverse experience. For such people it is more typical to possess such quality as “wisdom”. People, in whose consciousness more developed (ampliative) Chakram Personalities are activated, are more intellectual and altruistic, liberal and tolerant, compassionate and responsible, than with dominance of more primitive (depliative), "instinctive" sub-personalities.

With the development of human consciousness primitive (depliative) Chakram Personalities evolve into more developed (ampliative) ones. That is we become wiser and more experienced, able to take into account more information when making decisions, and can anticipate more various consequences for ourselves and the world. Conceptions belonging to more evolutionary Chakram Personalities are based on the conceptions of less evolutionary ones, meaning they include their information. It can be explained in detail as follows. It so happens that a person needs to go through a number of similar situations so he finally learns the "lesson" and draws appropriate conclusions to avoid the recurrence of similar event in future life. In each of these similar situations the experience was gained by alike but slightly different sub-personalities, as circumstances of life are never identical. And, in the consciousness of such individual, based on the experience of these many Chakram Personalities, is being activated one [5] "new", more evolutionary sub-personality, which consist of the experience of a number of less evolutionary ones. This is the transformation of primitive (depliative) Chakram Personalities into more developed (ampliative) ones - less developed into more harmonious ones.

6. Teamwork is the key

How can the above information help you to better understand how to bring your dream into life?

As already stated, the main difficulty in achieving a particular dream is that there are too many of these dreams, and it often happens that they are equally important. During such period of time when in person’s psyche prevails one sub-personality (say sub-personality 2) whose interests are far from interests of the other sub-personality (say sub-personality 1), person, in fact, "forgets" about dreams and goals of sub-personality 1, and completely switches to the implementation of interests that are of most urgency to him at that moment of time (interests of sub-personality 2). An example can be a craving for gambling which can deprive a person of all that he has worked for so hard, and perhaps what he passionately dreamed of since childhood.

The only way, in my opinion, ability to acquire stability to achieve own goal - it's as much as possible to "organize" mutual work of all active Chakram Personalities, so that each of their particularities would benefit the whole "global project" (i.e. the highest priority dream or goal). It is like creating a team, each member of which has unique skills, abilities, and has a narrow specialization. And if to properly direct their mutual work, then we will be able to extract from it an incredible gain. And in all this the leader and organizer plays a huge role. Exactly based on his competence, personal characteristics, aspirations and values, will depend the extent of team’s productivity and activity, and the strategies and tactics used to achieve the set goal.

Therefore, for the fastest realization of a dream, it is necessary to choose, from all Chakram Personalities, the "competent manager" who would be able to take into account interests of majority, if not all, sub-personalities that are active in the mind of an individual. And the more developed (ampliative) conceptions this sub-personality will operate with, the more there will be a chance to integrate the whole set of different-quality interests into the realization of a dream. But this approach will only be effective in the case if there is no clear predominant Chakram Personality with selfish (more depliative) conceptions in self-consciousness. Otherwise the dream that will have the most chance to be realized is the one that brings the interest satisfaction to all these dominant sub-personalities. Don’t you agree that for the person with "exorbitant" ambition it would be unlikely to have a dream like spreading ideas in the community of intellectual and altruistic development, although the latter – is a dream of a highly moral (ampliative) Chakram Personality. And because such dream in a very small degree contains selfish aspects, it will therefore will be irrelevant to a person until such time that it accumulates the experience of realizing own ambitions. But, even after that, his new dominant interest may not necessarily be of highly spiritual nature.

7. About conscious and constructive approach to dream realization

The chosen most desirable and alluring dream conditionally defines the "leading" sub-personality, or rather a set of a plurality of sub-personalities that are compatible according to their interests. It is exactly their interests that mostly correspond with this dream.

Further, it is very important to undertake the analysis of all desires and needs, in all areas of life, as well as their assessment on the subject of usefulness on the road of dream realization. In other words the “inventory take” of creative possibilities of each of the diverse Chakram Personalities, who form the basis of that person’s psyche dynamics, is carried out. For sure some sub-personalities will be more compatible with the chosen goal, and will contribute to its achievement. For example, sub-personality with healthy lifestyle interest will be favorable for the person who dreams of becoming a professional sportsman. In this example the "main" dream represents the realization of need of self-realization, money, fame. And, in this case, the desire to have a healthy and beautiful body is compatible, although isn’t the main one.

Also during the "stock take" such sub-personalities will be found who’s features of mental creativity have little compatibility with the chosen dream, and who will significantly interfere with its realization. For example the interest implementation of a "naughty girl" or "quarrelsome wife" sub-personality will not really contribute to the dream of a happy and harmonious family. This dream is more compatible with conceptions belonging to more developed (ampliative) Chakram Personality, but sub-personality that is incompatible with its implementation is the more primitive (depliative) one. Therefore for situation harmonisation and the organization of an effective "team" work of all components of human consciousness it is necessary to apply various techniques on transforming ideas into more developed (ampliative) ones, for such part of Chakram Personalities that are in conflict with the overall team. Nowadays a huge amount of useful information on this subject can be found in books and internet. Also the assistance of specialists, various trainings, schools, and deep self-analysis will be helpful. As "incompatible" sub-personality develops, more and more interests will be found that are compatible with the main goal. The degree of inner contradiction will be reduced, which will allow to focus more mental energy on goal implementation.

But there also can be an opposite situation, where the dream belongs to more primitive (depliative) dominant sub-personality, and the incompatible Chakram Personality is the one that is more developed. An example can be the desire to achieve success on career path, or to accumulate an "infinite wealth" at any cost. If these dreams are dominant in a person's life, sooner or later so-called "conflict of conscience" may occur, when the advancement on the chosen path will require the betrayal, deception, or even physically destruction of an obstacle. In this scenario such more developed (ampliative) Chakram Personality, which represent moral principles is the "weakest link" which prevents the dream from realization. The outcome of this inner conflict, again, depends on the ratio of "good and evil", i.e. if importance of “conscience” for experiencing happiness in life. But remember that the same type of situation will repeat itself for as long as such person makes the "right", Human [6] choice! In this example, if a person chooses in the favor of more primitive (depliative) sub-personalities, he will more and more plunge into the realization of own ambition, greed, aggression and similar experiences. And such circumstance will develop around that person, which will contribute to the realization of these experiences [7]. And if an internal conflict with own moral principles is not solved, then this destruction will affect the world around - situations will deteriorate until the time such individual finally fixes the relations with itself. And he will either come to the conclusion that the most important thing in life is "to live by your heart", at peace with yourself, or will convince own conscience that he makes right choices and that this is the only way to live.

In each of us, when determining a priority goal in life, a lot of "weak links" will be found - perceptions and behavior patterns that to some extent prevent its realization. Therefore, the best way is to develop an individual strategy, where a specific role will be allocated to interests of each sub-personality. Then the mental energy of each of the groups of interests and needs of an individual will be utilized in a single direction. After all, all aspects of individual’s "I" should be taken into account to ensure the harmonious mental state in the process of achieving long-term goals, which are all sub-personalities that form part of that person’s psyche.

In the process of self-assessment the most difficulty may cause the identification of so-called "suppressed" desires, interests and fears that relate, according to scientists and psychologists, to unconscious (or sub-conscious) human mind.[8] These are the Chakram Personalities which very rarely (if ever) show their direct activity, but instead they affect the emotional state and the choices of a person. More often these are such sub-personalities who manifest themselves through various sexual or very aggressive notions. The detection and transformation of such Chakram Personalities releases an enormous amount of mental energy, which was previously used on inner harmonization of such individual, and on implementation of control over “instinctive”, “animal" aspects of consciousness.

According to many psychology conceptions, as well as iissiidiology, absolutely all desires, interests and needs of an individual need to be transformed into more evolutionary forms. More primitive conceptions are converted into more advanced ones. Here is what theory of psycho-synthesis says on this subject: "Each sub-personality has energy that cannot be destroyed, it can only be transformed”. We should note the following:

1) a person not only learns various aspects of own personality, but admits having all of its parts, and does not suppress them into unconsciousness;

2) learns to free himself from the control of ruling over him sub-personalities, understands the level of his internal integration by removing the opposition between sub-personalities;

3) can bring own sub-personality to the highest level of its potential, gradually approaching the identification of true “I”."

By "true I" is meant the more evolutionary part of human consciousness, which is made of the most developed (ampliative) Chakram Personalities. The formulation of a global goal that fits their conceptions will facilitate a more rapid transformation of ideas and mental reactions of the individual as a whole.

Why it is the highly-spiritual dream which will contribute to speeding up the development process of all structures of a consciousness? It is due to the fact that desires of more developed (ampliative) Chakram Personalities are based on interests of less developed (depliative) ones, and conceptions of more developed sub-personalities are based on the experience of many less developed sub-personalities, such dream will serve as an incentive to improve (ie, to ensure the realization of their interests) for the most part of activated Chakram Personalities, and as activity intensification of unconscious Chakram Personalities. And the integration process of all different-qualitative interests under the lead of high goals can be carried out faster and more efficiently.

To conclude

In this article, I discussed the subject of dreams: their nature and implementation mechanisms. Let’s summarize all what was mentioned above. So dream - is an abstract image of what makes it possible to satisfy the most urgent desire at that particular moment of time. And the stronger the interest or need is, the more vivid and alluring the dream will be.

One of the concepts that describe the structure of person’s psyche, is the theory of sub-personalities, according to which sub-personalities - are a kind of "roles that people play in the society ... They are like actors of a play, where the play is the life of an individual, and the actors – are that individual’s sub-personalities". Iissiidiology has similar theory about the structure of individual's consciousness, the basis of which is such term as "chakram personality". Its meaning is similar to the term "sub-personality", but there are important differences at deeper level. There is a conditional classification of Chakram Personalities to more and less evolutionary ones. According to iissiidiology information, conceptions of more developed sub-personalities are based on conceptions of many more primitive ones and include their experience. The process of consciousness evolution implies that fact that manifestation characteristics of "chakram personalities" are transformed from instinctive into intellectually-altruistic ones.

However, with conscious and constructive approach to the process of self-development and reality formation, it is possible to reduce the inner conflicts between interests of different sub-personalities and to "organize" their joint work in such a way that the energy of desires and interests of the majority was directed towards the realization of a dream. There are conditional steps on the way of building an effective "team":

  • Identify the "strategic" dream (and hence its "carrier" - the dominant sub-personality), which would take into account interests of the majority of Chakram Personalities in individual’s psyche;
  • The analysis of all activated sub-personalities on the subject of their contribution or obstruction to the implementation of the chosen goal;
  • If conceptions of some Chakram Personality are little or not compatible at all with the chosen direction, and thus its characteristics are less perfect than characteristics of the "leading" Chakram Personality, it would be necessary to apply a series of methods and techniques to transform its ideas, and to find areas of common interests, so that such sub-personality would also became interested in the global goal of an individual.
  • In the opposite situation, when it is the incompatible Chakram Personality which is more developed (ampliative) than the sub-personality which “leads” the realization of individual’s goal, it would be necessary to look for ways to "negotiate with conscience", or to choose another "leading" sub-personality.

The more intelligence, responsibility, altruism, compassion, and tolerance will be laid as the basis for priority goal formation, the more this goal will accelerate the correction of individual’s conceptions and psycho-mental activity, in accordance with the Human Development Direction.

[1] In this article, "sub-personality" has similar meaning to the concept of "chakram personality". But according to iissiidiology each Chakram Personality is characterized with more narrow range of interests than in psychology. After deeper examination of this concept in both sources, it is apparent that there are substantial differences in the meaning.

[2] The activation of areas of the limbic system and the activity suppression of the front part of cerebral cortex corresponds with the mental state of a person when his ability to control and analyze own actions is weak, and to a greater extent he is under the influence of emotions - in decision-making he is guided by information coming from sense organs, and not by logic and reasoning.

By ‘unconscious’ is implied everything that does not become the object of awareness for an individual ... All our secret desires and fantasies, that contradict the public morality and generally accepted behaviour standards are being pushed into unconsciousness. Supressed desires and feelings unintentionally show themselves in a slip of the tongue, dreams, and also in art...”
